3 Shot Variation

one line at the 12 receive 3 passes, one entering the 8 for a power shot, the next for a finesse shot, the last after circling around X for a crease roll. \ \ Can change it up by having a coach, injured player, or line of players being the feeders. Can also throw in GBs instead feeds.

3-Man Ground Ball Drill
Set three players: Player 1, Player 2, and Player 3. Player 1 rolls a ball to Player 2, who scoops it cleanly. Player 2 immediately passes to Player 3, who looks to quickly move the ball back to Player 1 for a shot on goal. Emphasize proper ground ball technique and creating space. Rotate players to keep everyone active.
5 ball inside shooting
working on players stepping down and shooting from all angles
One-Handed Shooting
Set players in a line with a feeder near the goal. Player A cuts along a designated lane, receiving a timed pass from the feeder while practicing quick footwork and cradle. They catch, absorb momentum, and execute a one-handed shot with proper rotation. After shooting, they rotate to the end or a recovery spot. Player B begins their cut as Player A finishes, creating continuous flow.
Three Wide Offensive Drill
3-line setup along restraining line. Player 1 throws ball toward endline, sprints to scoop ground ball, makes big turn. Player 2 vacates crease as outlet, receives pass. Player 3 makes jab step then jump cut to vacated crease space. Player 2 feeds cutting player for shot. Sequence: ground ball → outlet pass → jump cut → feed → finish. Emphasizes ball movement, spacing, anticipation, finishing without goalie.
Ladders + Stick/Back Outs
Equipment: Ladders and Cones Choose whatever footwork you want to do in the ladder. While they are doing the footwork they need to have a ball in the stick and the stick is to the outside of the ladder (outside hand) cradling the ball low in ONE HAND. To make it harder, hold at bottom or stick - to make easier, move hand higher up on stick. Once they complete the ladder, the player brings the stick up into their open hand so it's in a triple threat position. The player attacks the cone that is 5-10yd away and then they split dodge and back out of "pressure" on an angle. Always back out to where your stick is leading/facing.
1v1 Draws Drill
1v1 Draws Drill Setup: – Two lines of players line up on the draw circle, just like in a real game draw. – Coach stands in the center with the balls and will blow the whistle and toss the ball up at the start of each rep. How it Works: – On the coach’s toss, both players react and battle to gain possession. – Focus on clean stick control, quick reaction, and body positioning. – After several reps, move into elimination format The player who wins the draw stays in and goes to the back of the line, while the player who loses is out. – Continue until one player remains as the overall winner. Focus: – Fast hands and anticipation – Strong stance and body positioning – Competing for 50/50 balls – Quick transition to control after gaining possession
Multiple Cutters
Using half the 8, mark 3 zones with cones (one near the second hash, one below the elbow). Place 3 defenders, one per zone, and 4–5 attackers cutting in and out. On the opposite side, posts pass and look for feeds (not live, no defense). Attackers must exit a different zone than they entered, forcing defenders to pass off cutters. When the ball is fed inside, defenders must crash.
Defensive Transition Retreat
Teach defensive players to retreat into the zone ahead of the ball and prevent fast breaks. Set up 4 cones above the attack zone (2 offense, 2 defense) and 2 cones off to the side (1 each). X1 and X2 attack from the top with the ball. D1 and D4 rush to slow the ball. D2 and D3 protect the middle, sliding to the ball or pass as needed. Defense focuses on retreating, slowing the break, and forcing an even-numbers situation. Play it out to a shot, goal, or clear. Variation: Change where the ball enters from — point or sides.
